“I will refer to eyebrow feathering Melbourne, but this includes all ink treatments like microblading, feathering, and powdering ombre – they are all forms of tattooing.”
Here are my thoughts
I want to start by expressing my admiration for how the world is evolving, with numerous quick and easy solutions available to meet our needs. I genuinely believe we are moving towards better eyebrow solutions, although the perfect solution hasn’t arrived yet. Some ink treatments can be excellent for certain individuals, but they’re not suitable for everyone. I’m a fan of natural, soft eyebrows; harsh brows can detract from a woman’s softness and femininity.
The colour will fade
Brow tattooing or feathering can result in lovely brows, and I wholeheartedly agree that they can look very nice for the first 6 months or so. However, they can lead to other less pleasant experiences. Fading of the colour is common and can be fixed with a ‘touch up’. The issue is that no one can guarantee how your skin will react or what colour it will fade to.
It will likely be patchy
Many clients who have had this done before end up with grey, blue, or orange brows, and they are always patchy. Yes, always patchy (take a closer look, and I promise it doesn’t fade evenly).
It can damage the hair follicles on your brows
Let’s say you don’t mind going for touch-ups for the rest of your life. Have you considered the damage to your skin? Have you seen or experienced repeated cuts in the same small spot on your body? That can easily lead to a keloid scar (a raised scar).
You will have to go for touch-ups forever
What about the damage to your hair follicle? If you could choose, I’m sure you’d prefer to lose hair in some areas of your body, but I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t want to lose hair on your eyebrows, right?
I once heard a brow feathering expert claim that eyebrow feathering Melbourne can encourage hair growth… Have you ever seen hair grow on regular tattoos or scars? I’ll leave that for you to consider (not a very convincing selling point, in my opinion).
A regular tint and wax are still required
Now, let’s say you don’t care, as long as your brows look perfect and you have the best eyebrow design ever! Did you know you would still need to come in regularly for a tint and a wax? Yes, some people think they will save money with semi-permanent brows, but you don’t.
Speaking of semi-permanent, as a brow specialist, I see many clients who have had their brows done and can’t get rid of the pigment. After all, it’s SEMI-PERMANENT; just think about that combination of words for a moment. In my experience, that often equals PATCHY.
Some brow ‘technicians’ completed their course in just a few days. Now, let’s talk about the shape… oh, the shape! Many great brow artists are creating fantastic designs, but many don’t! Just yesterday, I had a client whose eyebrows had been feathered, and not only did she have a (permanent) grey tint on her brows, but they were also uneven! Fortunately, I’ve seen this before and knew what to do. But trust me, it’s not worth it.
How about going natural? Is that old-fashioned?
How about investing the time you would spend lying there (and getting tortured for 3 hours) into learning a new skill? Learn how to create brows with makeup.
I always say: DON’T LISTEN TO ME, TALK TO SOMEONE WHO HAD IT DONE 5 YEARS AGO. They will be the best ones to take advice from.
